Since the Collector's Guide threads seem to have disappeared and Universe hasn't updated in over a year, I thought I'd post this info here. Anyone please feel free to update it.
Pressed in very limited quantities, this promo single appears to have been an attempt to market Almighty Associates and Dataluxe (two aliases for the same remixing group) to the US. The "Dataluxe Mix" was originally produced as an Almighty remix for release in the UK, where Almighty had been steadily gaining success with their remixing style, including remixes of "To The Moon And Back." Because of it's "big room" sound, this mix was deemed "too American" for the UK market, so the mix was not chosen for commercial use. Almighty Associates therefore chose to direct the release at the US market instead, and reformed as Dataluxe for this purpose. Due to this change, the release appears to have been rushed.
The actual title of the CD is "Savage Garden - Affirmation UK Remixes"
Three people who actually own copies have discussed them on the EZBoard Pop Remixes forum, and the Almighty Records forum and have said the following:

Re: Dataluxe unreleased mixes...
I am one who got this cd-r promo.....
times 9:06 Almighty mix
11:40 Dataluxe mix
it is on a mitsui thermal cd-r, no catalog number.
CD has "transferred via ISDN" on it, "Source Date: May 26, 2000", and Columbia May 30, 2000
I have not compared the mixes side by side with the Bangin' Mix, but the mix seems the same, just running at a slower BPM, the same with the Almighty mix---
actually, I like the slower BPM, works better for the song IMHO.
cheers........................

[I]t is an official promo, a printed CDr acetate, th[at] says "Savage Garden - Affirmation UK Remixes"
One difference of note: the almighty mix on this promo is actually 9:06 in length compared to 8:04 on the UK release (the version actually seems to run at a lower BPM than the UK release) And the Dataluxe mix is 11:40--Sheila Blige mentioned before that the UK did not use this mix because it was too "American" sounding. I must say in this case they were right, it has a very "american" big room sound--but it is a very good mix!!!

Re: Regarding the new Affirmation mixes
[M]y 12" promo copy features the Almighty Affirmative mix, and the Dataluxe mix.
That's the latest I have. No verification about whether the tracks actually play at these slower beat-per-minute rates, or whether this is just info printed on the CD/12". I also have an extremely low resolution scan of the CD from an expired eBay auction that Mario mentioned.

Darth Vader: the ability to destroy a planet is nothing compared to the power of the Force.....
I think that the newly available, or relatively newly available almighty remixes where they also included the rare hold me almighty remix, there was under another name the dataluxe remix, but it's only a rumour I heard; the people who actually knew about this have deserted this board
your post is a gem, thank you

Do you mean that there was meant to be a Hold Me (Dataluxe Mix)? The only thing I know about the Hold Me mix that got released on the new(ish) Almighty promo is that it HAD been released before - but only an edited version. I've got a copy of that, a DJ who had the promo copied the track for me. If there was intended to be a Hold Me (Dataluxe Mix) I wasn't aware of that. The Dataluxe Mix of Affirmation, I am now 90% certain, was not QUITE the same as the Almighty Bangin' Mix - the two tracks on that rare CDR promo appear to run slower.
My latest attempt to get info about that is on the new Almighty Records forum (you'll need to register for it) at http://www.almightyrecords.com/forum...pic.php?t=3205
I strongly urge you to reply to the post there asking about this rumour, because the post I made is not attracting any attention. Anyone else, join in too. It's the nature of DJs to be mainly interested in the new rather than the old, but I'm hoping to eventually draw the attention of some people who knew, including screen names mentioned above.
Any help's appreciated!

Ahem.
Popping in to add a little Almighty SG info that I ran into yesterday. Again, I strongly urge any of you who are hard core collectors to post in the Almighty forum thread I linked in my last post.
Promo edits of SG remixes:
ALMYPRCD1 Almighty The Remixers 11 track Show Reel, the mix of TTMAB is an edit of the Almighty Fired Up Mix.
http://www.discogs.com/release/1239300
ALMYPRCD3 Almighty Remixes (Black Label), the mix of TTMAB is an edit of the Almighty Fired Up Mix.
http://www.discogs.com/release/1239307
ALMYPRCD4 Almighty Remixes (Red Label), The mix of Affirmation is a edit of the Almighty Affirmative Mix.
http://www.discogs.com/release/1239327
ALMYPRCD5 Almighty The Remixes 2001 #1, the mix of Hold Me is an edit of the Almighty Mix, and the mix of Affirmation is an edit of the Almighty Affirmative Mix.
http://www.discogs.com/release/1239342
And a new one, not in Universe:
ALMYBEST003 Almighty Showreel - The Best Of And More 3, has Affirmation (Almighty Affirmative Mix) on it, the full version. It's a 2007 UK Promo CDr.
http://www.discogs.com/release/1207066
Two of these releases are currently for sale on the linked Discogs site, but the sellers are asking U.S.$105 for each one and I don't feel it's worth it. If any of YOU happen to be grateful for anything I've done for the SG community, I do accept gifts.
What in elk's name happened to Universe?! It's dissapeared worse than I have!

An official Almighty insider has actually responded to my query about the UK Affirmation mixes! No info yet, but "Helen" (almy12@btinternet.com) emailed me saying
I had asked for confirmation of the track timings and any catalogue info that might be available. More updates as events warrant.Originally Posted by Helen@Almighty_Records

Cool, it's nice of her to refer your question onto somebody who might know such specific information.
Yes, it's great to have the Almighty team be willing to talk to their fans. Unfortunately, I didn't find out anything. After some back and forth correspondance, I eventually got the following email from "Lynn" (almy11@btinternet.com):
The only other news is that I heard from "mso10" on the Almighty Records forum. All he had to say was:Hi there,
Thank you for your kind words. I'm afraid we do not have access to
the times here. Best of luck with your search though.
Almighty Forum member "celine" gave me another private email address that I'm going to try. I don't want to bother anyone, but sometimes it pays to be persistent. I hope some day one of those in the know will get in contact. View the Almighty Records forum thread atI was the "wilson23" you were searching for recently (that was one of my aliases on the old site), and, just so you don't keep chasing me - I'm afraid it isn't for sale, and I don't know where you can find another like it!
http://www.almightyrecords.com/forum...pic.php?t=3205 if you wish to promote my effort.

Maggz over at www.unofficialdarrenhayes.com reports that she has a copy of the CD-R and can confirm the info above. I'm corresponding with her - hopefully she can provide a scan of the CD. I have an eensy-weensy one:
More details when I hear from her.

P.S. Please don't bug Maggz about this, as I will share whatever I find out. Sometimes it's best to have only one person involved.
