First of all what is with the title? Did I miss something here? I'm afraid I don't get it at all.
As for the other question. When was this recorded? I can't seem to remember at the moment. Just wondering.

Still don't get the title!

Well, you know how when you give someone a task and they say "I'm on it"? Well, that's basically what the title means. "On The Case", or "Right Dead Back On Course". "Dead" here means "exactly" or "absolutely", like in "dead ahead".

That's my interpretation, anyway.

Here's what I said on another forum: (darrenhayesonline.net)

Here's the best interpretation I can come up with:

Okay, to be "right dead" something means to be on-target, or focused (like, to have a "dead-aim" at something). To get "right back on" something, means to immediately resume something you were doing. So combining these, we get the sense that Darren knows what he wants, and he's going to keep at it. This, when taken in the context of the rest of the song, seems to indicate that Darren knows exactly what he wants, and what she wants, from a relationship (He keeps telling her that he knows what she deserves from a relationship - "I know where you belong") - that they want precisely the kind of relationship that he and Elisa are discussing - and he's clinging to that idea ("you just keep me holding on"). So even though they don't know each other, they "know what [they] feel" and are going to keep taking a chance on revealing their feelings to build the relationship.

Basically, they each know exactly what they want - each other - and will keep doing anything to perfect and keep that relationship.

That's what makes him a good artist, both solo and in Savage Garden.

Man, that's why I like Darren! He really makes you think....

I don't like listening to (or watching, for that matter) things that don't make me think.
